Fun for everyone!

Tips for planning your Gingerbread Party

  • To keep things simple and fun, have each party-goer bring a bag of candy to share. You can set the theme by colors or shapes or just make it "pot-luck."
  • Our instruction booklet has a list of all ingredients and kitchen utensils that you'll need so preparing ahead is easy.
  • Make sure you tell them on the invitation that they can take their decorated project home with them...how enticing!
  • If the party is just for small children, bake and assemble the houses ahead of time and let them have all the fun decorating. Put out bowls of different candy varieties & prepared frosting bags (zip-lock or disposable cake decorating bags--no tips necessary).
  • For older kids (over 10) they can handle assembling the project too. In between assembly and decorating, make it their job to put out candy and fill frosting bags. That way, you do less work, and they give their project time to dry/harden before decorating.
  • For small adult parties (4 or less) make it a weekend event. One day for baking, another day for decorating. Have everyone bring their own cookie sheet, rolling pin and a bag of candy to share and all you provide is the dough, frosting, and your kitchen. Gingersnaps Pattern Kits are like a gingerbread class in a bag...you'll give everyone a jump start by providing the dough, and they can do the rest with the help of our sturdy plastic patterns and learn-as-you-go illustrated instruction booklet.
  • A great time to decorate Christmas Gingerbread Houses or Santa's Sleighs is after Thanksgiving dinner when the family is all assembled. It puts everyone in the holiday spirit and will draw the young, old, and even the in-betweens back to the table--guaranteed!
